SANDBACH PHYSIOTHERAPY & SPORTS INJURY CLINIC LTD opened its doors in 2000 when Bernadette Oakes left her post as Head Physiotherapist at Crewe Alexandra F.C. and established a popular and well renowned practice on Congleton Road. Due to the fantastic reputation she built up within the local community, in 2002 she added the now Clinical Director Will Stockdale to the team. The clinic, its profile and the esteemed services it provided continued to increase patient and appointment demand. For those reasons, 4 years later, the clinic then move to its current location at 12 Abbey Road, where the premises were completely renovated to become, and continue to be Sandbach’s only purpose fitted physiotherapy clinic, with an abundance of off road parking , whilst only being 2-3 minutes from the centre of one of Cheshire’s most sought after towns.
The clinic has continued to grow from strength to strength, boasting a superb unrivalled team of Chartered and HCPC registered physiotherapists, with over 100 years of clinical experience in many different facets of physiotherapy. The practice treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions from a variety of sources including; G.P. and consultant referrals, occupational health referrals from local businesses, patients from medical insurance companies such as WPA, CIGNA, AVIVA and BUPA (AXAPPP re-registration pending) and the clinic is a preferred provider for many medico-legal intermediaries. The clinic is able to produce detailed receipts for those people that are able to claim their costs back from cash back healthcare schemes such as Healthshield, SimplyHealth, Westfield and Beneden.
All the physiotherapists within the practice have good working relationships with local G.Ps and many local orthopaedic consultants. Therefore, if it is felt that a patient’s condition is not going to respond or is not responding to conservative treatment, the physiotherapist can quickly refer them to the appropriate specialist.
To treat our variable musculo-skeletal , orthopaedic and neurological caseload, our physiotherapists use a variety of evidence based treatment techniques including mobilisations, manipulation, detailed home exercise programmes, massage, acupuncture, electrotherapy, ergonomic posture and work station advice. This is facilitated further by a detailed CPD programme for all of the clinicians, ensuring they are at the forefront of evidence based practice.
Accessibility to the clinic is very easy if travelling by road, as we lie within 10 minutes of junction 17 of the M6, with great road links to Crewe, Nantwich, Alsager, Winterley, Haslington, Holmes Chapel, Congleton and Middlewich. The business operates from superbly presented, custom fitted premises and has the advantage of excellent private parking facilities with disabled access. The practice strives to be able to offer an initial consultation within 1 working day of first contact being made. Appointments are available 12 hours a day, 5 days a week and Saturday mornings.
